A Laptop-Sized Solar Panel Is Lighting Rural Africa

Enaro Energy is a Distributed Energy Service Company (DESCO) that develops Mini-Grids for the supply of grid quality electricity. We are currently developing our first set of grid-connected mini-grid projects (in collaboration with a traditional distribution utility company – DISCO) to generate and distribute predictable, metered power to small parts of the utility’s network.

Our installations primarily serve the residential and small commercial segments of the market thereby improving the quality of life of individuals and improving the economic potential of small businesses in areas where we operate.

How it Works

Site Identification

Enaro Energy and its distribution utility (DISCO) partners identify viable sites within the DISCO’s franchise areas that cannot presently be served with adequate supplies from the grid.

Community Engagement

The community at the site is engaged and data is collected which is used to design a power generation solution that delivers on the expectations of the community at a reasonable price.

Installations

The generation facilities are installed and connected to the DISCOs distribution infrastructure. Prepaid smart meters are installed for all consumers.

Customer Satisfaction

The facilities are commissioned and the communities enjoy a high level of service with operations, maintenance and customer management carried out by a dedicated team.
